On May 6, 2025 the extension of 133rd Avenue NE from NE 175th Street to Little Bear Creek Parkway (NE 177th Place) opened. The extension significantly enhances connectivity in the region. Key benefits
Reduced Congestion: The extension helps alleviate traffic congestion in the downtown area by increasing overall roadway capacity.
Improved Access: New pathway provides an alternative route into the downtown area, easing the flow of traffic from SR 522.
Scope of work
First Segment between NE 175th Street to Woodinville Snohomish Rd. This segment was constructed by Mainstreet Property Group as part of their adjacent Eastrail Flats development. Key improvements included:
Enhancements to the existing intersection at NE 175th Street
Construction of a new intersection at Woodinville Snohomish Road
Second Segment between NE 175th Street to Woodinville Snohomish Rd. This segment will be constructed by the City of Woodinville. Key improvements include:
A new roundabout at the 133rd Avenue intersection
The addition of a pedestrian tunnel beneath the roundabout
Public Art: A unique public art installation will be placed at the center of the new roundabout, enhancing the visual appeal of the intersection.

Project Cost
Approved Budget: extension and new roundabout at the intersection of Little Bear Creek Parkway and Woodinville Snohomish Road: $9.5 million. (Includes over $5 million through the Mainstreet Development project.)
