A feasibility study conducted by the Northshore Parks & Recreation Service Area (NPRSA) conducted a needs assessment of the NPRSA service area and identified a community and aquatics center is the highest priority need for residents. The NPRSA Board of Directors unanimously selected a six-acre site in Downtown Woodinville as the preferred location.

  • The current phase of this project is property acquisition.
  • The CIty has allocated $6 million in local funds and is applying for grant and federal funding.
  • Following property acquisition, the NPRSA Board of Directors will explore a future levy to fund the construction and operation of the facility.

Key benefits

  • Will serve as North King County's home base for extracurricular activities ranging from recreation to educational offerings.
  • The City of Woodinville's ownership will allow for public use ranging from severe weather and resiliency hub operations to supporting emergency communications infrastructure.
  • Partnering with Northshore School District, this facility will help provide much needed pool space to students in the area and help promote aquatic safety.

Location

NPRSA shares boundaries with the Northshore School District. The desired property site sits on three separate parcels of land and is located in Downtown Woodinville, which is in the center of the District.
